You can be a teamplayer and go from the bottom to the top level by proving that you got the skills to generate profits for your company as a leader of a sales team. There must be the common goal to sustain a brotherhood and informal sphere to be warm hearted. The humor and loyalty should be there to look beyond color or creed.

Hire the sales people with right skills.

There are big game hunters like Coca-Cola and Nike that hire sales executives right straight from Harvard and Princeton. It can be that you also can find professional minded sales men with a vocational diploma or with a marketing diploma like NIMA-A or NIMA-B. It is mostly the attitude that bring a sales man to the top. If a beginning sales man has the fighters attitude and eager to learn from experienced sales people then they are on the right path. Through the prior experience of the sales man you can get to know how collobrative and how far their sales experience is developed. It is not easy to find well experienced sales people because they already are well satisfied with their current boss. Before you hire the right sales man for the position you need to know how driven, focused, what type of sales person he or she is.

Offer the sufficient sales training to the new sales men.

When you hire young sales executives give them a good sales training. They should know the ins and outs of the product they are selling and they always should approach the clients, customers and consumers with mutual respect. The fast sales men talk is not only cheap and it is not always convincing as a polite and respectful tones that a driven sales men speak. When you hire new sales men offer them a on-boarding program to keep the salesmen at your company for a long period. This secures the company’s investment such as money and effort to train the sales men. A solid knowledge of the product and client approach will do your company’s profits wonders. In the begining of any freshman of the sales profession will not bring any high scores as experienced sales people. Motivation and self secured sales men will succeed in an constantly changing product and sales environment.

Implement the proper tools such as software.

Build a smooth workflow with other department like customer service, marketing department and production department. The communication through e-mails, phone or video calling must go smooth. Sales strategies should be developed to communicate and execute in collobration with other departments. The sales team will have a pleasant workflow when sales department can follow up the each lead they get. There must be a strategy to communicate with all the department to make the whole process from production to sale go well. Technology took the world. We can not function nowadays without the TV, radio or the computer. It made a huge impact on our lives. This technology environment is constantly changing. As a sales manager you need to stay up-to-date to compete with other businesses.
